First of all, I would like to thank the esteemed Australasian Association of Ayurveda (AAA) for giving me the opportunity to represent the association as the AAA Treasurer. I am very proud to be part of the oldest association in Ayurveda. This year, the AAA is going to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This is such an honourable event for all of us.
I have been a member of this association since 2005. I took over the responsibility as AAA treasurer in 2016, and am continuing to this day. This period has been an outstanding experience, and highlights include materialising the goals of AAA, seeing the number of AAA members grow and the substantial funds.
As a treasurer, I am entrusted with the association’s funds from all sources, and have paramount joint support of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and all the members of the board. I am pleased to not only engage myself with the AAA and its members, but also with the members of the public to raise awareness about Ayurveda.
In the past couple of years, the AAA as an organisation has grown drastically, as have the number of new members and funds. We have been able to fund successful events such as the ‘Pre-workshop Ayush Conference and Awareness Week 2017’ to promote Ayurveda. The AAA also supported and funded various Ayurveda awareness events around Australia in NSW, WA and SA over the past two years.
The forthcoming event: ‘The 1st International Ayush and AAA Conference and Exhibition 2018, Melbourne, Australia’ is to be held on the 6th and 7th October 2018. It is the first event of such a scale in Australia for Ayurveda enthusiasts, whereby participants from India, Europe and Australia will be gracing the occasion. I feel extremely proud to be facilitating this event to generate interest and awareness in the ancient science of Ayurveda. Please come and join us in this wonderful event.
Lastly, I would like to thank all members of the AAA and the broader public for their encouragement and support in executing my duties, and for their efforts in promoting Ayurveda in Australia.
