PAIN MANAGEMENT THROUGH AGNIKARMA-A CLINICO-RADIOLOGICAL STUDY
Ayurveda, the science and art of dynamic state of human living is able to cater the needs of the society because of its fundamental. conceptual and philosophical renaissance of clinical applications. Agni karma (a therapeutic cauterization) is such an authentic clinical practice in Ayurvedic system of medicine and has got worldwide popularity because of its simple administration and efficacy in variety of vata disorders including various soft tissue disorders to different neuro-muscular problems and other orthopaedic degenerative disorders. It is unique form of therapy performed with the help a Shalaka (a special device) heated with agni and executed on various indications with a therapeutic module and schedule either to nullify the pathological existence or to lessen the severity of symptoms. This procedure has been described to be the superior amongst all the para surgical measures and do not relapse if properly executed.
This Present article was attempted with a scientific overview and with a special emphasis on the practical execution on various degenerative joint problems along with its critical overview in the light of Clinico-radiological assessment. Finally the results were subjected to the statistical assessment to endorse the scientific validation of the work.
